Man Charged with Murder in Waltham Forest

A man has been charged with a murder in Waltham Forest.

An investigation was launched after police were called at around 23:51hrs on Thursday, 18 April to an address in South Birkbeck Road, E11. This residential area in Waltham Forest is known for its tight-knit community and peaceful surroundings.

Officers attended and found a man suffering stab injuries. They provided emergency first aid alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. Despite their efforts, the man died at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Petro Bebko, 23, of Leytonstone. His family have been informed. A post-mortem examination held on 19 April gave cause of death as a stab wound to the neck.

Arrest and Charges

Mykola Yakymets, 34, (15/12/1989) was arrested at the address. Both men lived at the address in South Birkbeck Road. On Sunday, 21 April, he was charged with the murder of Petro Bebko.

Mykola Yakymets will appear in custody at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 22 April. The community in Waltham Forest is reeling from the tragic incident, coming together to support the family of the victim.
