Bodyguard Shot at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 Recovers Consciousness

A bodyguard who bravely took a bullet for his client at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 on April 14 has finally regained consciousness. Mr Mohd Nur Hadith, also known as Along, had undergone a successful five-hour surgery after sustaining serious injuries while protecting his client, Ms Farah Md Isa, who owns a travel agency.

His wife, Siti Noraida Hassan, confirmed that Along woke up on April 20 after being in a medically induced coma due to his injuries. She mentioned that he can now speak a little, although there is no specific timeframe for his discharge from the hospital.

The Incident at Kuala Lumpur Airport

The shocking incident occurred in the early hours of April 14 when a man allegedly attempted to shoot his wife, Ms Farah, in the arrival hall of the Kuala Lumpur airport. Farah Cie, as she is commonly known, was awaiting the return of clients from an Islamic pilgrimage when the suspect threw a firecracker towards her, causing chaos and injuries to onlookers.

Amidst the chaos, the suspect fired a shot at close range, narrowly missing Farah but hitting Along as he shielded her from harm. The injured bodyguard was swiftly transported to Hospital Cyberjaya for urgent medical attention.

Suspect Apprehended After Nationwide Manhunt

The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Hafizul Harawi, fled the scene in a car following the shooting. However, after an intense nationwide manhunt, he was apprehended in Kota Baru at 3pm on April 15.

The entire incident left the public in shock and disbelief, with the heroic actions of Mr Mohd Nur Hadith, Along, being praised for his selfless act of bravery in protecting his client. The recovery of Along brings hope and relief to his family and loved ones, as they await his full recovery and eventual discharge from the hospital.
