The Tragic Incident in Karachi’s Defense Khayaban-e-Janbaz Area
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a young man lost his life at the hands of his own friends in Karachi’s Defense Khayaban-e-Janbaz area. The victim, identified as Humayun Dawood, was tragically shot more than a dozen times in front of his own house.
The incident, which has left the community in shock, took place in a quiet residential neighbourhood where such violence is rarely seen. Humayun, a loving father of two children and the only son of his parents, was a well-respected member of the community.
The Details of the Tragic Event
The case was reported by the victim’s friend Humam Javed, who was present at the scene of the crime. According to Javed, the group of friends, which included Dawood, Ahmad Zaman, Saqib, Asif, and Fahad, had been sitting together before a heated argument broke out.
Despite efforts to calm the situation, the argument escalated when Fahad, one of the friends, allegedly opened fire on Humam and Dawood as they were leaving in their car. The two friends were injured in the attack, prompting them to seek refuge at Dawood’s house.
Tragically, Fahad pursued them to the house, where he rammed his car into theirs and continued to fire at Humayun until he succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s wife and mother, who heard the commotion, rushed outside to witness the devastating scene.
The Aftermath and Police Investigation
Following the shooting, Humayun was rushed to a nearby private hospital and later transferred to Jinnah Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police, who arrived at the crime scene, found more than 15 bullet shells and numerous bullet marks on the victim’s car.
An investigation is currently underway to determine the motive behind the attack and the nature of the dispute between Humayun and Fahad. The community is reeling from the tragic loss of a beloved member, and justice must be served for the senseless act of violence that took his life.
