Murder Investigation Launched in St Catherine North

Authorities in the St Catherine North Police Division are currently conducting a murder investigation following a tragic incident that took place on Saturday night. The victim, identified as Garfene Edwards from Newland district in Portmore, St Catherine, was fatally shot along St John’s Road in Spanish Town.

Scene of the Crime

At approximately 10:50 p.m., residents reported hearing loud explosions along St John’s Road, prompting the police to respond swiftly. Upon arrival at the scene, Edwards was found lying in a passageway, suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was quickly rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Recovery of Vehicle

During their investigation, authorities recovered a motor car believed to have been driven by the deceased at the scene of the crime. However, no motive has yet been established for the murder, leaving many questions unanswered.

Current Situation

As a result of this tragic incident, sections of Spanish Town are currently under a 24-hour curfew as authorities work diligently to ensure the safety of residents in the area. The community is left in shock and disbelief as they come to terms with the loss of one of their own.
