A Former O.C. Boys and Girls Club Counselor Arrested for Allegedly Molesting Young Girls

Last March, a disturbing incident came to light when a female reported to the police that she was inappropriately touched by a Boys & Girls Club counselor. The alleged perpetrator, identified as Elijah Domminic Barrera, a 29-year-old from Fullerton, was accused of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child. The Garden Grove Police Department took immediate action to investigate the matter.

The incident, which had gone unreported since August 2014, involved a victim who was only 7-8 years old at the time. As detectives delved deeper into the case, they uncovered another victim who had also been subjected to Barrera’s alleged misconduct.

On April 19, 2024, Barrera was apprehended by police detectives and subsequently booked into Orange County Jail on two counts of the aforementioned charges. The gravity of the situation has prompted investigators to believe that there may be additional victims who have yet to come forward.

In light of this distressing situation, the authorities are urging anyone who believes they may have been a victim or knows someone who may have been a victim to reach out to Detective A. Nikolic at 714-741-5877 or email AdamN@ggcity.org.

This unsettling case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals from potential harm. The Boys & Girls Club is a place where children should feel safe and protected, and incidents like these underscore the need for stringent measures to prevent such occurrences.
