COLUMBUS, Ga. (WBRL)— Over the weekend, Muscogee County was rocked by two tragic incidents involving teenagers, one being fatally shot and the other struck by a vehicle. In addition to these heartbreaking events, two more individuals were injured in separate incidents.

Saturday Shooting on Warm Springs Road

Super 8 Motel

The first incident took place on Warm Springs Road on Saturday afternoon, where a shooting occurred near the Super 8 Motel. Columbus Police Department responded swiftly to the scene, with multiple police cars blocking off the area with crime scene tape. As of now, details about the victim’s condition remain unknown.

Sunday Shootings on Lakeshore Drive and Crystal Drive

Multiple Victims

On Sunday, tragic events unfolded on Lakeshore Drive and Crystal Drive, with multiple shootings reported in the area. One victim underwent surgery at a local hospital, while another individual lost their life after being shot in a separate incident. The victim, Daryus Bryant, aged 16, was pronounced dead at Piedmont Columbus Regional’s Midtown Campus.

Pedestrian Fatality on Manchester Expressway

In a separate incident, Devonte Cage, also 16, tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle on Manchester Expressway. Reports suggest that Cage was exiting a vehicle when he was hit by another passing vehicle. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations will be assisting in the investigation of this heartbreaking incident.
