A 35-year-old Indian Army sepoy, Bablu Baskey, tragically lost his life after the bike he was riding skidded on the AJC Bose Road-Maa flyover link near the seven-point crossing in Kolkata. The incident, which occurred around 5pm on Friday, has left the community in mourning.

Bablu Baskey, a resident of Haripal in Hooghly and posted at Fort William, was rushed to the Command Hospital in Alipore with multiple injuries after the accident. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he was declared dead a few hours later.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident and why the victim lost control of his bike. The spot where the accident occurred has been a hotspot for similar incidents, with this being the second fatal accident in the past six months.
