In a devastating incident this morning, a man and his seven-year-old son lost their lives, while his wife was left injured after being hit by a bus on the Dhaka-Chattagram highway in Narayanganj. The deceased have been identified as Suresh Dauka, 35, and his son Lokesh Dakua of Jhalakathi Sadar upazila.

Details of the Incident

The tragic accident took place around 7:35 am in Sonargaon upazila, according to Traffic Inspector Abu Nayeem Siddiqui of Kanchpur Highway Police Station. Reports suggest that Suresh, along with his wife and son, were crossing the highway when a Chattogram-bound bus collided with them.

Lokesh lost his life at the scene of the accident, while his father succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Suresh’s wife, Nipu Roy, aged 30, is currently receiving medical treatment at the same hospital.

Nipu Roy shared her harrowing experience, stating, “We came to Sri Sri Loknath Brahmachari Ashram and Temple in Baradi area for prayer last night. We were crossing the highway when the bus hit us. My son was holding his father’s hand, and I was behind them with our bags. I lost everything in an instant.”

Police Investigation and Legal Action

Authorities are actively searching for the vehicle and driver involved in the tragic accident, with Inspector Abu Nayeem Siddiqui confirming that legal action will be taken once the responsible parties are identified. As of now, no formal case has been filed regarding the incident.
