On a fateful day in Dhanusa, tragedy struck as an elderly man, identified as Ram Ratan Mandal, 65, lost his life in a motorcycle accident. The incident took place in Bideha Municipality-7, Belapatti, Dhanusha, leaving the community in shock and mourning.

Reports from Dhanusha police spokesperson, DSP Ranjan Awa, revealed that Mandal sustained serious injuries in the collision and was rushed to Sita Hospital in Janakpur for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Mandal tragically succumbed to his injuries.

DSP Awa disclosed that the motorcycle involved in the hit-and-run incident was discovered abandoned in a bush at Ward No 6 of Bideha Municipality later that evening. The motorcycle, bearing the registration number 02-007 Pa 2943, was reportedly being driven by Rohit Mandal, 30, also a resident of Bideha Municipality-6. However, Rohit Mandal is currently at large and is being sought by authorities.

The body of the deceased has been transferred to Janakpur Provincial Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
