An Alabama man, Jeremy Michael Ponton, tragically lost his life in a fiery motorcycle accident in eastern San Diego County. The incident occurred on Winter Gardens Boulevard in Lakeside, a picturesque town nestled in the heart of San Diego County.
Details of the Crash
The crash unfolded as Ponton, 34, was riding his 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R southbound on Winter Gardens Boulevard at a high speed. It was shortly after 8 p.m. on a fateful Tuesday evening when a 2013 Ford F-150 reversed out of a driveway near Lemon Crest Drive, directly into Ponton’s path.
Fiery Collision
The collision between the motorcycle and the pickup truck resulted in a devastating impact, causing both vehicles to burst into flames. Despite the efforts of paramedics, Ponton succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest.
