Accident – Death – Obituary News : In a shocking incident that has left the community in east Delhi’s Shakarpur reeling, a 33-year-old MCA graduate has been accused of brutally murdering his wife and brother-in-law using a screwdriver. The victims have been identified as Kamlesh Holkar, a 30-year-old teacher, and her 17-year-old brother, Ram Pratap Singh.

The police were alerted to the gruesome crime following a PCR call at 10:11 am on Wednesday, reporting a fight at a residence in Shakarpur. Upon arrival, officers discovered the two victims had been fatally attacked with a screwdriver. The prime suspect, identified as Shreyansh Kumar, was initially missing from the scene but later confessed to the crime after joining the investigation. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Apoorva Gupta confirmed that Kumar has been arrested.

Authorities are currently looking into the possible motives behind the heinous act, with marital discord being considered as a potential factor. DCP Gupta expressed concerns over inconsistencies in the family’s statements and suspicions of tampering at the crime scene, indicating a complex investigation ahead.

Kumar, a highly educated individual with a master’s degree in computer applications, ran an online coaching business from his home. His wife, Kamlesh, was a dedicated teacher at a school in Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh. The couple had tied the knot in 2021 and shared a child together. Ram Pratap Singh had traveled from Mathura to join the family for their child’s birthday celebration on April 14, only to tragically lose his life in the violent altercation.

Neighbors and relatives have shared their shock and grief over the incident, with allegations of domestic violence surfacing in the aftermath of the murders. Family members from Mathura have arrived in Delhi to mourn their loss and demand justice for Kamlesh and Ram Pratap Singh. Ravindra Singh, a relative, lamented the lack of intervention despite warning Kamlesh about the escalating abuse, highlighting the urgent need for action against domestic violence.

As the investigation continues and the bodies undergo postmortem examination, the community grapples with the devastating consequences of domestic turmoil turned deadly.
