Man Found Dead in Trailer Fire in San Bernardino County
A tragic incident unfolded in San Bernardino County as authorities investigated the death of a 25-year-old man, Justin Wilkinson, from Victorville. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reported that Wilkinson was found dead in a trailer fire in the 7800 block of C Street in Hesperia on April 15.
Discovery of the Victim
Deputies responded to the scene at 9:37 p.m. and discovered Wilkinson’s body inside the trailer after fire crews extinguished the blaze. However, upon closer examination, detectives determined that Wilkinson’s injuries were not caused by the fire but were the result of an assault prior to his death.
Suspect Identified
Authorities interviewed a witness, 23-year-old Angel Cardenas, who was later identified as the suspect in the case. The nature of the relationship between Cardenas and the victim remains unknown, and the events leading up to Wilkinson’s death are currently under investigation.
Arrest and Detention
Cardenas was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center, where he is being held without bail pending further legal proceedings.
