Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault After Breaking into Woman’s Home
A man from Baton Rouge has been taken into custody on a number of charges following accusations of breaking into a woman’s home with an axe and sexually assaulting her, according to authorities.
Details of the Incident
The incident took place in the 1800 block of Blvd de Province in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Police were alerted to suspicious activity on April 17, prompting them to respond to the scene. Upon arrival, the suspect attempted to flee but was later identified as Joseph Hayes.
Hayes is also linked to a separate sexual assault case that occurred on April 13, further complicating the situation.
Charges and Booking
Following the investigation, Hayes was charged with First Degree Rape, Aggravated Burglary, Distribution/Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS, and Misdemeanor Sexual Battery. He was subsequently booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
