Tragic Car Crash in Manteca Claims Lives of Livermore Family

A devastating car crash in Manteca on Saturday has left a community in mourning after claiming the lives of a Livermore couple and two of their children. The San Joaquin County coroner’s office has identified the victims as Arriaga Bonifacio Negrete, 44; Liliana Guerrero Mendoza, 40; Jorge Negrete Guerrero, 12; and David Negrete Guerrero, just 4 months old.

Details of the Accident

The tragic accident occurred on Highway 120 in Manteca around 10 p.m. on Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol. The family’s Toyota Sienna minivan, traveling westbound on the highway, inexplicably veered off the road, entered the grassy median, and plunged into an underpass. The vehicle overturned and tragically caught fire, trapping the occupants inside.

Witnesses to the horrifying scene rushed to help, with more than 15 people working together to free the family from the wreckage. The survivors of the crash were two young girls, aged 6 and 14, and a 9-year-old boy. All three children were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment, with the youngest being taken to UC Davis Medical Center with serious injuries.

Community in Shock

The Manteca community has been left reeling by the tragedy, which marks the second quadruple-fatal crash in the Modesto area in just four days. The local authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident and offering support to the grieving family members left behind.
