A devastating car crash in Manteca has left a community in mourning after a Livermore couple and two of their children tragically lost their lives. The San Joaquin County coroner’s office has identified the victims as Arriaga Bonifacio Negrete, 44; Liliana Guerrero Mendoza, 40; Jorge Negrete Guerrero, 12; and David Negrete Guerrero, just 4 months old.

Details of the Accident

The fatal accident occurred on Highway 120 in Manteca at around 10 p.m. on Saturday. The family’s Toyota Sienna minivan was traveling westbound on the highway when it suddenly veered into the grassy median. The vehicle then plunged into an underpass, overturned, and caught fire.

Witnesses who saw the wreckage rushed to help the occupants of the van, but tragically, only three children survived the crash. Two girls, ages 6 and 14, and a 9-year-old boy were rescued from the burning vehicle and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The youngest child was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center with serious injuries.
