A tragic incident occurred on the Srinagar-Jammu highway when a dumper vehicle, bearing the registration number JK18D 1453, rolled down the road and plunged into the Chenab River at Sherbibi area of Banihal. The driver lost his life in the accident, while two others sustained injuries.
The driver, identified as Nawaz Ahmad Bhat, was the son of Mohammed Amin Bhat and hailed from Laisoo, Kulgam. The two injured individuals were identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Wagay, son of Bashir Ahmad Wagay, and Zubair Ahmad Sofi, son of Mushtaq Ahmed Sofi, both residents of Damhal Hanjipora in Kulgam.
Nawaz Ahmad Bhat leaves behind elderly parents, a wife, and two young children – a son and a daughter. The entire community is mourning the loss of a beloved member.
The local authorities have taken action by registering a case under the relevant sections of the law to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident and ensure accountability.
