Woman Arrested for Theft and False Identification in Colma

A woman was apprehended by Colma police officers after attempting to steal merchandise from a business on Colma Boulevard. The incident took place around 8:44 p.m. on April 9, when officers noticed a loss prevention officer trying to detain the suspect for theft.

Police Pursuit and Arrest

Upon spotting the commotion, the officers activated their emergency lights and pursued the suspect as she tried to evade capture by fleeing back into the store. Despite her efforts, the officer managed to catch up with her and successfully detained the woman.

Theft and False Identification

It was discovered that the suspect had stolen items amounting to $349.46. When asked for identification, the woman provided false details that did not match the photo seen by the officers. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had credit cards with a different name in her possession, which she denied owning.

Identification and Arrest

With the help of Colma dispatch, the suspect was identified as 35-year-old Tammy Dang from San Francisco. It was also revealed that Dang had an outstanding felony warrant in another county. She was subsequently arrested and taken into custody at the San Mateo County Jail on charges of petty theft, providing false identification, and the existing felony warrant.
