Tragic Key Bridge Collapse in Baltimore Claims Fourth Victim

Authorities in Baltimore have confirmed the recovery of a fourth victim from the devastating collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge last month. The tragic incident, which occurred on March 26, resulted in the deaths of six construction workers who were carrying out repairs on the bridge.

Salvage crews working tirelessly at the site made a heartbreaking discovery on Sunday when they found what they believed to be a missing construction vehicle. The Maryland State Police were immediately alerted, leading to a joint response from the FBI and the Maryland Transportation Authority Police. Tragically, the victim was found trapped inside the vehicle.

The victim was transported to the medical examiner’s office and formally identified on Monday. At the request of the family, the name of the victim has not been released to the public.

Continued Recovery Efforts and Mourning the Lost Lives

As the recovery operation continues, the community is reminded of the human cost of this tragedy. Colonel Roland L. Butler, Jr., Superintendent of Maryland State Police, expressed his condolences and commitment to exhaust all available resources in the recovery effort.

Authorities have been working tirelessly to recover the bodies of all six construction workers who lost their lives in the bridge collapse. The incident occurred when a cargo ship struck the bridge, causing it to plummet into the Patapsco River while the workers were repairing potholes.

Rescuers managed to pull two workers to safety, but the remaining six were tragically presumed dead following an extensive search operation. Over the following days, the bodies of three victims were recovered, identified as Maynor Suazo Sandoval, Dorlian Castillo Cabrera, and Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes.

The recovery operation remains ongoing as authorities work to bring closure to the families of all the victims involved in this heartbreaking tragedy.
