Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Tragic Murder of Marlen Ochoa-Lopez in Chicago

Clarisa Figueroa has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for her involvement in the brutal murder of pregnant Chicago woman, Marlen Ochoa-Lopez. The horrific incident took place in 2019, when Ochoa-Lopez, who was only 19 years old at the time, was lured to a home in Chicago’s Scottsdale neighborhood.

Clarisa Figueroa, along with her daughter Desiree, were both charged with the murder of Marlen Ochoa-Lopez. Desiree Figueroa recently pleaded guilty to her role in the crime in a Cook County courtroom.

Prosecutors revealed that Clarisa Figueroa had falsely claimed to be pregnant in October 2018, despite having her fallopian tubes tied. She then connected with Ochoa-Lopez through a Facebook group that provided baby items to families in need.

According to the prosecution, Clarisa convinced her daughter Desiree to assist her in killing a pregnant woman and stealing her baby. Ochoa-Lopez visited their home on April 1, 2019, but managed to escape unharmed initially. However, she tragically returned to their home later that month.

Desiree showed Ochoa-Lopez a photo album before her mother strangled her from behind. The baby was then forcibly removed from Ochoa-Lopez’s womb. The Figueroas disposed of the body in a garbage can in the garage and called emergency services, claiming Clarisa had just given birth.

Marlen Ochoa-Lopez’s baby survived for a short period after her death before passing away. Her husband reported her missing, leading to the eventual arrest of the Figueroas.

Clarisa Figueroa accepted a plea deal and will serve a 50-year prison sentence for her heinous actions.
