MIRI: A tragic incident unfolded in Miri on Sunday (Apr 14) when a lifeless body was discovered near an apartment building compound.
Discovery of the Body
The local police chief, ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, confirmed receiving a report about the discovery. The body of a 46-year-old man, a local resident, was found lying in front of the yard of the apartment where he lived. The police team responded swiftly to the scene at around 5.35 am.
Investigation and Findings
Upon examining the scene, ACP Alexson mentioned that no signs of foul play were detected, and there were no visible injuries on the deceased. Despite meticulous combing of the area by the officers, no conclusive evidence pointing towards a criminal act was found.
The Victim
The victim, who worked as a food technology officer in the city, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from Miri Hospital. The sudden death of the individual has left the community in shock and mourning.
