Man Killed in Tragic Accident in Anantapur District
A devastating incident unfolded in the quiet town of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh recently, where a man lost his life in a heart-wrenching accident. Jinne Erraswamy, a 35-year-old tractor mechanic from Cholasamudram village, met with a tragic end while returning home on his two-wheeler one fateful Sunday night.
Details of the Accident
Erraswamy’s life was cut short when a speeding SUV collided with his two-wheeler near Y Kothapalli on the national highway. Shockingly, the vehicle did not stop after the accident, leaving the victim behind. The local police, who arrived at the scene, were unable to locate Erraswamy’s body initially.
It was only after receiving information from concerned locals at Hanimi Reddy Palli, approximately 15 km away, that the police were able to identify the car involved in the tragic accident, with Erraswamy’s lifeless body still on the roof of the vehicle.
The Search for the Driver
The car, registered in Karnataka, was found abandoned by the roadside, with the driver nowhere to be seen. The police have launched a full-scale investigation and are working tirelessly to identify and track down the driver, who fled the scene when confronted by alert locals.
Sub-Inspector Muneer Ahmed of the Atmakuru police station revealed that the owner of the vehicle had sold it a week prior to the incident. The vehicle was en route from Anantapur to Hassan in Karnataka, passing through Kalyanadurgam, with no street lights to illuminate the dark stretch of road.
The Aftermath
Despite speculations that the driver may have been under the influence at the time of the accident, the police have refuted these claims, stating that it is too early to draw any conclusions. The driver’s identity remains unknown, with no CCTV footage or electronic devices linking them to the crime.
After a thorough postmortem examination, Erraswamy’s body was handed over to his grieving family. He leaves behind a wife and two children, who now must cope with the sudden and tragic loss of their beloved family member.
