Man Suspected of Shooting at Wife Arrives at Subang Jaya Police Air Base

In a dramatic turn of events, the man suspected of shooting at his wife and injuring her bodyguard at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) last Sunday has been apprehended. Identified as Hafizul Harawi, the 38-year-old was arrested in front of a private hospital in Kota Baru, Kelantan after evading authorities for over 24 hours.

Escorted by a heavy security detail, Hafizul Harawi arrived at the police air base in Subang Jaya this afternoon. The suspect was taken to a Magistrate’s Court this morning where a remand order for seven days was issued. He is expected to be transferred to the Selangor police headquarters in Shah Alam for further questioning.

After departing from Kota Baru at 1pm, Hafizul Harawi was flown aboard a King’s Air B300 aircraft and arrived at the Peninsular Royal Malaysia Police Air Wing Unit operations centre in Subang Jaya at 2.03pm. The suspect was escorted by a convoy of 10 officers in three police patrol cars and two police motorcycles.
