In a recent development, the man suspected of shooting at his wife and injuring her bodyguard at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) last Sunday has been apprehended. The suspect, previously identified as Hafizul Harawi, was arrested in front of a private hospital in Kota Baru, Kelantan after evading authorities for over 24 hours.

**Heavy Security Escort**

The suspect arrived at the police air base in Subang Jaya this afternoon amidst heavy security. He was flown aboard a King’s Air B300 aircraft from Kota Baru and touched down at the Peninsular Royal Malaysia Police Air Wing Unit operations centre. A convoy of police officers escorted the suspect as he disembarked from the plane, with his hands cuffed behind his back.

**Remand Order Issued**

Following his arrival, the suspect was taken to a Magistrate’s Court where a remand order for seven days was issued. He will be further transported to the Selangor police headquarters in Shah Alam for questioning. The suspect, dressed in lock-up attire, remained silent as he passed by the waiting media.

**Seized Items and Investigation**

Police have seized a pistol, bullets, firecrackers, a passport, foreign currencies, identity documents, and a car belonging to the suspect. It is believed that he had intentions to flee to Thailand and later to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. The incident, which took place at the arrival hall of Terminal 1 KLIA, targeted the suspect’s estranged wife who was waiting for an umrah pilgrimage group. The bodyguard of the wife was critically injured in the shooting.
