Arrests Made in Connection with Faribault County Burglaries

Three individuals have been apprehended in relation to a series of burglaries that have plagued Faribault County in recent months. Nicole Blum, 41, hailing from Winnebago, and Dustin Reinhart, 37, from Blue Earth, are currently facing charges of felony 3rd-degree burglary.

The Faribault County Sheriff’s office has been diligently investigating multiple incidents of burglary that have occurred across various locations over the past half-year. The perpetrators of these crimes were so brazen that they even left behind a trailer at one of the properties they targeted. The authorities were alerted to a suspicious activity at 3:27 a.m. on a Sunday morning when it was discovered that the trailer had been relocated.

Swift Action Leads to Arrests

Deputies wasted no time in tracking down the trailer, which was being towed by a Dodge Dakota pickup truck, to a driveway in Winnebago. Upon closer inspection, Blum and Reinhart were identified as the occupants of the vehicle and were promptly taken into custody. Subsequent warrant searches conducted at a residence on 5th Street uncovered drugs and recovered stolen items.

In a separate incident during a routine Minnesota Department of Corrections probation check at a residence on 6th Avenue in Winnebago, Cain Buster Walterman, aged 43, was also arrested. An extensive search of Walterman’s property revealed a substantial amount of stolen goods from the burglaries, along with drugs, a firearm, and ammunition.

Legal Ramifications

Walterman is facing felony charges for receiving stolen property, while Blum and Reinhart are up against gross misdemeanor charges for the same offence. Additionally, all three suspects are being charged with gross misdemeanor drug possession. Walterman faces an additional charge of possessing a firearm and ammunition as an ineligible individual. It was also discovered that Reinhart had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant in Martin County.

Authorities believe that the incidents at both residences in Winnebago are linked and are continuing their investigation into the burglaries.
