A woman’s vehicle was caught in a gunfire exchange while stopped at an intersection in Woodbridge on Saturday night, according to Prince William County Police.

Officers were called to Powells Creek Boulevard and River Ridge Boulevard in Woodbridge at around 8:51 p.m. in response to reports of gunshots. The incident involved a 43-year-old woman who was waiting at the intersection for a group of people to cross the street. Suddenly, a Honda vehicle pulled up beside her, and gunfire was exchanged between the Honda occupants and the group on foot.

The woman’s car was hit by bullets before she was able to drive away. Fortunately, there were no injuries or additional property damage reported.

Shell Casings Found in the Roadway

Police discovered shell casings at the scene and believe that the incident was not random. While there were no descriptions of the suspects involved, authorities stated that the group crossing the street consisted of males.

Other Incidents in Woodbridge Area

Aside from the gunfire exchange, Prince William County Police also responded to other notable incidents in the Woodbridge area over the weekend.

Armed Robbery:

On April 12th at 5:43 PM, officers were called to the Tobacco King and Vape store on Old Bridge Road in Woodbridge to investigate a robbery. Two men entered the store, one of them grabbed items from an employee while the other destroyed merchandise. The suspects fled to the parking lot and one of them brandished a firearm when an employee followed them. No injuries were reported, but vape products were reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary:

Later that same day at 6:42 PM, police responded to the Stonebridge Terrace Apartments on River Walk Way in Woodbridge for an attempted burglary. A masked individual was caught on surveillance footage kicking the front door of an apartment before fleeing. The suspect, a 15-year-old male, was detained by officers and charged with attempted burglary and possession of burglarious tools.
