It was a horrifying scene in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, as a husband brutally stabbed his wife to death in a fit of rage. The accused, Govind, surrendered himself to the local police station after committing the heinous crime.
The Tragic Incident
According to officials, the victim, Manju, a nurse and mother of three, had been married to Govind, a photographer, for 14 years. Their relationship was plagued with turmoil from the start, with allegations of regular harassment by Govind and his family members.
The Domestic Dispute
Manju’s brother, Janak Singh, claimed that the couple had a heated argument over Rs 10,000, which Govind allegedly stole from her. This dispute escalated, leading to a violent confrontation that ended in tragedy.
The Surrender
After stabbing his wife, Govind remained with her lifeless body for hours before finally turning himself in to the authorities. Police discovered blood splattered at the crime scene, with the murder weapon, a knife, lying beside Manju’s body.
Legal Action
Govind has been arrested and sent to jail, while preparations are being made for Manju’s postmortem examination. Efforts are also underway to apprehend Govind’s father, Kunwarpal Singh, who is currently evading the law.
