Details of the Incident

The distressing incident unfolded on Monday morning when authorities received a call reporting a lifeless body in the 600 block of Isler Street. The individual who made the call stumbled upon the woman’s body upon their return to the residence, prompting immediate action from the Goldsboro Police Department.

Responding swiftly, the Goldsboro police’s Investigative Services Bureau and Crime Scene Unit, along with Wayne County Probation/Parole Officers, identified the deceased as Eboni Marie Jackson, a 47-year-old resident of Goldsboro. Despite the tragic discovery, officials do not suspect any foul play at this time.

Series of Unfortunate Events

Unfortunately, this incident adds to a string of recent deaths in Goldsboro. Over the weekend, the police were called to investigate three separate incidents involving deceased individuals. The first investigation began on Friday afternoon when a 40-year-old man was found in the woods near the intersection of Interstate-795 North and W. Ash Street.

Following this, on Saturday morning, another 40-year-old man passed away shortly after a welfare check was conducted at the Irish Inn, a motel on Sunburst Drive. Finally, on Sunday, a woman’s body was discovered in a tent behind a shopping center, prompting yet another investigation.

Identification of the Deceased

Through thorough investigations and collaboration with Wayne County Probation/Parole Officers, the deceased individuals from the weekend incidents were identified as Richard Scott Lane, Billy Wayne Saunders, and Shawnell Kearston Alves. These tragic events have left the community shaken and authorities working diligently to uncover the causes of these untimely deaths.
