Accident – Death – Obituary News : A tragic incident unfolded in Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood early Sunday morning, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old girl and the injury of another 19-year-old. The New York Police Department received a distressing 911 call around 2:20 a.m. reporting an assault in progress in front of a local deli.
Upon arrival at the scene, authorities discovered one victim with a stab wound to the chest and the other with a stab wound to her arm. Both young women were promptly rushed to a nearby hospital, where one tragically succumbed to her injuries. The deceased was identified as Samyia Spain, a resident of Brooklyn. The other victim is said to be in stable condition.
According to reports by NBC News, the two girls, who were twin sisters, were targeted after rejecting unwanted advances from a man. An eyewitness recounted that the man initially complimented the girls and expressed his attraction to them. When they rebuffed his advances, he resorted to name-calling before leaving the deli.
Shortly after, the man returned to the deli and attempted to force his way in by banging and kicking on the glass door. Despite the staff locking the door for safety, he managed to gain entry upon its opening and launched a violent attack on the twins.
The grandfather of the victims, Alphonso Goodson, shared a similar account with the New York Post, stating that the man persisted in hitting on his granddaughter despite being asked to leave her alone. The storeowner intervened and ejected the man, who subsequently lashed out at the girls as they exited the deli.
