However, a recent horrific incident has sent shockwaves worldwide, as 20-year-old Indian student Paruchuri Abhijit from Andhra Pradesh was tragically killed in the US.

Abhijit’s body was found dumped in a car deep within a forest on a university campus, marking the ninth such attack on Indians in the US in 2024. The circumstances surrounding his death have raised suspicions of a robbery, possibly for money and a laptop. The identity of the attackers remains unknown, leaving many questions unanswered.

Despite the tragedy, Abhijit’s remains have been returned to his family in Burripalem, Guntur. Hailing from a small town in Andhra Pradesh, Abhijit was a promising engineering student at Boston University and the only son of his parents, Paruchuri Chakradhar and Srilakshmi.

According to his family, Abhijit was a talented individual from a young age, with his mother initially hesitant about his decision to study abroad. However, she eventually supported his dreams for a brighter future. Unfortunately, the dream of pursuing education in foreign countries has turned into a nightmare for many Indian youths, with cases of mental health issues, robberies, and even deaths abroad causing panic among parents back home.

The tragic incident involving Abhijit has once again highlighted the risks faced by Indian students studying overseas, prompting concerns and anxiety among those already abroad and those considering sending their children abroad.
