Accident – Death – Obituary News : ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. – A second suspect has been identified in connection to a 1970 cold case murder of a 16-year-old girl in Anne Arundel County, according to police.

Police have named 74-year-old Donald Willard as the second suspect in the murder of Pamela Lynn Conyers, who tragically lost her life in 1970. Willard, a resident of Montgomery County, passed away in 2010 at the age of 74.

The first suspect, Forrest Clyde Williams III, was identified through DNA evidence in March 2023. Williams sadly passed away in 2018 at the age of 69.

Detectives are now confident that Williams and Willard are the individuals responsible for Pam’s death. They are reaching out to the public for assistance in filling in the missing pieces of the puzzle and potentially linking them to other crimes in the area.

Conyers was reported missing by her family on October 16, 1970. At the tender age of 16, she vanished after running an errand at the Harundale Mall around 8:30 p.m., leaving her family deeply concerned.

The car Conyers was driving when she disappeared was discovered on October 19, 1970, in a wooded area near Mountain Road and Route 100 in Anne Arundel County. Tragically, on October 20, 1970, Pam’s lifeless body was found a short distance from the car in a wooded area between the eastbound and westbound lanes of Maryland Route 177, extending into Millersville, Maryland.

Following the discovery of the car and Conyers’ body, forensic processing was carried out by the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Evidence Collection Unit, with various items of evidence collected from the scene.

Conyers’ body underwent an autopsy at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Maryland. The cause of death was determined to be “asphyxiation due to strangulation,” with the manner of death ruled as “homicide.”

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of Othram Labs and Parabon Nanolabs, forensic genetic genealogy was instrumental in identifying Willard as the second suspect in this chilling case.

Despite the identification of Williams and Willard as suspects, Anne Arundel County police are urging anyone with information to come forward. If you have any details that could assist in this investigation, please contact them at 410-222-4731 or call the anonymous tip line at 410-222-4700..
