The Woman from Montgomery Claims Self-Defense after Shooting Houston Man Near Hill Country Winery

Authorities in Houston, Texas are currently investigating a disturbing incident involving a woman from Montgomery who shot and killed a Houston man near a Hill Country winery. The woman alleges that the man had kidnapped and drugged her, leading to the fatal confrontation.

On March 15, the woman managed to call 911 for help, although her location was initially unknown. Deputies eventually located her near a winery in the 10800 block of East US Highway 290, as reported by the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman informed authorities that she had shot a man who had abducted her, providing them with a description of his vehicle. Deputies found the car parked in the outside lane of westbound traffic, with the alleged kidnapper dead in the front seat. The deceased man was later identified as 49-year-old Lance Damon Reid, pronounced dead at the scene.

It was revealed that the woman and Reid were acquainted and had been on a planned weekend trip together when the tragic incident occurred. The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment following the ordeal.
