Motorcyclist Killed in Head-On Collision on 33 Freeway in Ventura County
A tragic accident on Sunday afternoon claimed the life of a 66-year-old motorcyclist from Oxnard after a van crossed the center line and collided with him on the 33 Freeway in Ventura County.
Details of the Crash
The incident occurred around 12:15 p.m. near mile post marker 32.70, north of Ojai. The rider, who was heading southbound on the 33, was struck by a 2017 Dodge Caravan that crossed into the southbound lane, directly in the path of the motorcycle, according to a report from the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The impact of the crash resulted in fatal injuries for the motorcyclist, whose identity has not been released beyond his age and city of residence. The driver of the van, a 34-year-old woman from Fillmore, sustained minor injuries, including cuts to her right leg, as a result of the collision.
