Pune: On a fateful evening near Pune, a horrifying scene unfolded at a highway restaurant that left bystanders in shock. The victim, 34-year-old Avinash Balu Dhanve, a property dealer, was mercilessly shot and hacked to death by a group of men, in what is suspected to be a result of gang rivalry.

The tragic incident took place at a restaurant situated on the Pune-Solapur highway, approximately 140 km away from the bustling city center. Chilling footage captured by CCTV cameras at the restaurant in Indapur reveals the brutal sequence of events that transpired.
Initially, Dhanve was seen conversing on his phone while seated with three others at a table. Suddenly, two armed men entered the premises, brandishing their weapons. Without hesitation, they aimed at Dhanve and fired a fatal shot, causing him to collapse instantly.
Following the gunshot, a group of six men rushed into the restaurant, with one of them viciously hacking at Dhanve’s motionless body. The scene escalated as three other assailants began striking him with machetes, while a terrified family nearby sought refuge and fled the scene in fear.

In response to the heinous crime, authorities have initiated a thorough investigation, deploying five teams to delve into the circumstances surrounding Dhanve’s brutal murder.
