Tragic Shooting Incident in Hoshiarpur, Punjab
Located in the state of Punjab, Hoshiarpur witnessed a tragic incident on Sunday that left a constable dead. The unfortunate event unfolded in Mansoorpur village, approximately 66 kilometres away from the city.
The victim, Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Constable Amritpal Singh, lost his life when a police team conducting a raid to apprehend a suspect came under fire. The team was on a mission to raid the residence of Sukhwinder Singh, who was suspected of harbouring illegal weapons.
Hoshiarpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Surendra Lamba revealed that as the team attempted to enter the suspect’s house, Sukhwinder Singh opened fire. Tragically, Constable Amritpal Singh was hit in the chest during the exchange.
Despite the valiant efforts of his colleagues, Amritpal Singh succumbed to his injuries. He was initially taken to the Civil Hospital in Mukerian but was later transferred to a private hospital, where he tragically passed away.
Manhunt for the Suspect
Following the incident, efforts are underway to track down Sukhwinder Singh. The police are conducting raids at various locations believed to be his potential hideouts. The search for the suspect continues as the authorities strive to bring him to justice.
