Chilling Incident Unfolds in Philadelphia Suburb

An “extremely dangerous” suspect accused of killing three people, including his 13-year-old sister, in a Philadelphia suburb is currently barricaded at a residence in New Jersey, officials have confirmed. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Andre Gordon Jr., was reported to be barricaded with hostages inside a residence in Trenton, hours after the shootings occurred at two residences in Falls Township, Pennsylvania, according to police.

Suspect Barricaded in New Jersey

All residents of the home involved in the barricade situation, as well as those in neighboring homes on the same side of the street, have been safely evacuated without injury, confirmed Trenton Police Department Det. Lt. Lisette Rios. Gordon is believed to be alone in the residence at this time, with a large police presence surrounding the area. Officers can be heard urging Gordon to surrender in footage from the scene.

Armed and Dangerous

Police have stated that Gordon is believed to be armed with an AR-15-style assault rifle used in the shootings, along with additional weapons. The suspect was familiar with the victims of the shootings, which took place on Saturday morning at two homes in Levittown, a community within Falls Township, officials have revealed.

Shocking Acts of Violence

Gordon allegedly carjacked a vehicle in Trenton before traveling to the area and “forcibly” breaking into both homes, according to Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn. The suspect first targeted a residence on Viewpoint Lane, where he fatally shot his 52-year-old stepmother, Karen Gordon, and his 13-year-old sister, Kera Gordon. Three other family members in the house managed to hide and avoid being shot by Gordon.

Search and Evacuation

Police were dispatched to a residence on Edgewood Lane next, where a 25-year-old woman, Taylor Daniel, was shot and killed at approximately 9:01 a.m. The victim shared two children with the suspect, and four other people were present in the home at the time of the incident. Daniel’s mother suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being assaulted by Gordon with the assault rifle.

Manhunt and Carjacking

Gordon is accused of then stealing a 2016 dark gray Honda CRV at gunpoint to flee back to Trenton. The carjacking took place at a Dollar General parking lot in Morrisville, with the operator of the vehicle left unharmed. The Honda CRV was later recovered unoccupied in Trenton.

Investigation and Police Response

Authorities are currently investigating the motive behind the attacks and how Gordon came into possession of the firearm. Falls Township Chief of Police Nelson Whitney mentioned that police had minor contacts with Gordon in the past but nothing that indicated such a tragic event would occur. A shelter-in-place warning issued by police has been lifted, and the community is slowly returning to normalcy.
