Initial findings from the investigation reveal that a Hyundai sedan, driven by a 53-year-old woman from Schaumburg, was heading north on Route 59. In a sudden and inexplicable turn of events, the vehicle veered into the southbound lanes of traffic, leading to a chain reaction of collisions. The Hyundai first collided with the rear of a semi-trailer being towed by a 2016 Freightliner semi-truck, driven by a 62-year-old man from Hawthorn Woods.
