Tragic Accident Claims Life of Dover Woman

A tragic accident took place in Dover, Delaware, on March 3rd, resulting in the untimely death of a local resident. The incident occurred on N. Dupont Highway, just north of Rose Bowl Road, in the Dover area.

Details of the Accident

On the fateful evening of March 3rd, at around 8:30pm, a Toyota Corolla was travelling northbound on N. Dupont Highway, specifically in the area north of the entrance to Pinewood Acres. The vehicle veered into the crossover between the northbound and southbound lanes, leading to a collision with a BMW 325 that was travelling in the left southbound lane on the same highway.

The driver of the Toyota, identified as 85-year-old Joyce Henry from Dover, Delaware, sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash. She was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries on March 15, 2024.

Investigation Ongoing

The driver of the BMW, a 20-year-old man from Dover, and his 17-year-old female passenger were also injured in the accident but their injuries were deemed non life-threatening. The Delaware State Police Troop 3 Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the circumstances that led to the tragic collision on N. Dupont Highway.
