Man Arrested in Connection with Fatal Stabbing in Fall River Rooming House

A 42-year-old man has been apprehended by Fall River police following a tragic stabbing incident at a rooming house on Tripp Street.

The authorities were alerted to the scene at around 9:45 p.m. at 234 Tripp Street after reports of a man, later identified as Joseph Bump, 44, being stabbed. Bump was swiftly transported to Saint Anne’s Hospital but, sadly, was declared dead just before 10:30 p.m., as confirmed by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

Pedro Fernando Orellano Alvarado, aged 42, was taken into custody at the rooming house and is facing charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He will be held over the weekend and is scheduled to appear in Fall River District Court for arraignment on Monday.
