Police in Fremont have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting that took place earlier this month. The incident occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m. on March 5 in the area of Stevenson Boulevard and Albrae Street. Officers were alerted to a reported shooting between vehicles, with one vehicle fleeing the scene and the other appearing to have been involved in a crash.

Details of the Incident

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the driver of the crashed vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds and with life-threatening injuries. Immediate medical aid was provided, and the victim was transported to a trauma center. Unfortunately, on March 9, the victim passed away due to the injuries sustained during the shooting.

Suspect Identified and Arrested

Investigators identified the suspect as Sylvester Carver, a 25-year-old resident of Fremont. On Wednesday, detectives executed an arrest and search warrant at an associate’s residence on Hartnett Avenue in Richmond. Carver was seen leaving the residence, and he was arrested without incident around 7:15 p.m. while in a vehicle with other associates.

Carver has been booked into Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, and willful discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
