The Uttar Pradesh police made a shocking discovery on Thursday at Saifai Medical College near Sonai Bridge in Etawah/Kanpur. The body of a 20-year-old student, Priya Mishra, was found with severe injuries, sparking concerns of a possible heinous crime.
SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma disclosed that there were no blood traces found at the scene, leading to suspicions that the body may have been dumped at the location. Priya Mishra, a first-year paramedical student from Auraiya, had reportedly handed her mobile phone to a friend before going missing. Additionally, it was revealed that she had been involved in a recent altercation with someone.
The investigation into Priya Mishra’s death is currently ongoing, with the Saifai police committing to thoroughly examine all angles of the case. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav has criticized the government and called for a judicial inquiry into the matter.
In a video shared by Yadav, students gathered outside the trauma center to protest the death of Priya Mishra. The SP Chief emphasized the need for a judicial inquiry, stating, “The suspicious death of a student at Saifai University is a grave issue. This reflects the failure of the zero-tolerance policy in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh.”
Yadav further added, “There should be a judicial inquiry into this alleged murder, so that the truth about the people involved in incidents like BHU and Saifai University can be revealed and the government cannot save them even if it wants to.”
