The Incident at Calder Avenue and 7th Street

Early in the morning on March 15, a pair of juvenile suspects caused a stir at the intersection of Calder Avenue and 7th Street in Beaumont. The Beaumont Police Department (BPD) received a report of two individuals, a male and female, dressed in all black and wearing masks, peering into cars in the 1100 block of N. 7th Street.

Swift Police Response

Upon arrival at the scene, officers spotted the suspects, who were also wearing latex gloves, and approached them. However, the suspects attempted to flee the scene but were quickly apprehended by the officers. Despite no reports of auto burglaries being made, the suspects were arrested for evading arrest.

Transported to Juvenile Detention

Following their arrest, the 16-year-old suspects, a white female and a black male, were transported to the Minnie Rogers Juvenile Detention Center. The BPD is continuing to investigate the incident to determine the motives behind the suspects’ actions.
