NGO Ship Rescues Survivors Adrift in Mediterranean
Recently, a non-governmental organization (NGO) ship rescued 25 survivors from a boat adrift in the Mediterranean for a week. Unfortunately, 60 others did not survive the harrowing ordeal. The survivors were evacuated by helicopter in critical condition and taken to Lampedusa, where there is no hospital.
Upon arrival in Lampedusa, the survivors were left there for two hours before being flown to a hospital in Sicily for further medical treatment. Tragically, one of the survivors has since passed away. The cause of death is unknown at this time, as investigations are ongoing.
