Tragic School Bus and Semi-Truck Crash in Rushville, Illinois

Residents from Illinois and all over the country are joining hands to support the grieving families affected by a devastating accident that occurred in Rushville, Illinois. The incident involved a school bus and a semi-truck, resulting in the tragic loss of two adults and three children on Monday.

The fatal crash took place around noon in Schuyler County, located approximately 60 miles northwest of Springfield. The school bus was travelling eastbound when, for unknown reasons, it veered into the west lane and collided with the semi-truck, leading to both vehicles engulfed in flames.

Authorities identified the victims as 5-year-old Maria Miller, 3-year-old Andrew Miller, 3-year-old Noah Driscoll, 57-year-old Angela Spiker, and 72-year-old David Coufal. The devastating incident has left the community in shock and mourning.

In response to the tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign was set up to assist the families of the children with funeral arrangements and other unforeseen expenses. Since its creation, the fundraiser has raised over $39,000 from 552 donations, demonstrating the outpouring of support from compassionate individuals across the nation.

Organizer Dominic Thurman expressed gratitude for every contribution, emphasising that even the smallest donations can make a significant difference in alleviating financial burdens for the affected families. The support received will enable the families to focus on healing during this incredibly challenging time.

Investigation and Funeral Arrangements

Illinois State Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic crash to determine the cause and prevent similar incidents in the future. Meanwhile, funeral arrangements for Noah, Maria, and Andrew will be announced by the Worthington Funeral Home website at a later date.

The Rushville community has come together to offer their condolences and support to the families affected by this heartbreaking event.
