The discovery of the body of an 18-year-old man on the campus of the MLC quarters in Patna, Bihar, has sent shockwaves through the state capital. The incident took place on Friday morning, leaving residents and authorities puzzled and concerned.

The body was found tied to the boundary wall of an under-construction building within the campus, which is situated near the residences of MLCs Sachchidanand Rai and Janak Ram. This area falls under the jurisdiction of the Secretariat police station, where investigations are currently ongoing.

Reports indicate that the victim’s hands were bound with a cable, and a cellphone was discovered in his left pocket. SDPO Secretariat Sushil Kumar has confirmed the incident and revealed that a police team, along with experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), is working to gather evidence and piece together the sequence of events.

Identification of the Deceased

City SP (Central) Chandra Prakash disclosed that the police were alerted to the presence of the body early on Friday morning. The deceased has been identified as Krishna, also known as Anshu, aged 18. He was said to have resided in Delhi after discontinuing his studies, prompting questions about his unexpected presence in Patna.

Authorities are currently interrogating security personnel and construction workers on the campus to glean more information about the circumstances leading to the tragic demise of the young man. FSL experts believe that the victim may have been killed at the exact spot where his body was discovered.

Security Concerns

The incident has raised concerns regarding security measures in the area, with SP Prakash acknowledging previous security audits that highlighted certain deficiencies. He assured the public that security would be bolstered to prevent similar incidents in the future.
