On March 4, authorities responded to reports of an armed man causing disturbances at a local nightclub. The suspect, identified as 53-year-old Jose Luis Villasenor Cervantes, had been ejected from the premises the previous day. When deputies attempted to approach Cervantes, he opened fire on them with an AK-47-style rifle, initiating a chaotic series of events.
Multiple deputies responded to the scene as Cervantes continued to exchange gunfire with law enforcement. The situation escalated further as Cervantes led deputies on a high-speed chase, culminating in a violent collision at the intersection of Stony Point Road and Butler Avenue.
