On Thursday, March 14, 2024, a troubling incident unfolded in the 2300 block of North St. in Beaumont. Beaumont Police received a call regarding a Robbery of an Individual in this quiet neighbourhood. The victim, who was peacefully sleeping in his tent, was abruptly awakened by the sound of two individuals attempting to steal his bicycle.

Suspects Threaten Victim

As the victim bravely confronted the suspects, a black male and a white female, the situation took a terrifying turn. The male suspect menacingly insinuated that he was armed, causing the victim to fear for his life. In a state of panic, the suspects swiftly fled the scene with the victim’s bicycle and other stolen belongings in tow.

Swift Police Response

With the swift and decisive action of Beaumont Police, the suspects, identified as 30-year-old James Roberts and 33-year-old Gabriella Rogers, were apprehended in the vicinity of 7th and Dollinger. The law enforcement officers wasted no time in taking the suspects into custody for their involvement in the Aggravated Robbery.

Legal Proceedings

Following their apprehension, both James Roberts and Gabriella Rogers were transported to the Beaumont Police Department for further questioning by detectives. Subsequently, they were slated to be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail to face charges related to the robbery incident.
