Tragic Accidents in Louisville Leave Four Pedestrians Injured
Four individuals, including two juveniles and two adults, were tragically hit by cars in separate incidents within a span of 12 hours, all within the city of Louisville, Kentucky. One of the victims, 17-year-old Clay Twyman, lost his life after being struck by an off-duty LMPD officer in the Jacobs neighbourhood on Wednesday night. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. near 24th and Bank streets in the Portland neighbourhood. Witnesses recalled trying to assist the teen, who was walking in the middle of the street while wearing dark clothing.
Tragically, the other three pedestrians involved in separate crashes early Thursday also succumbed to their injuries. The victims, including a woman identified as Aaron Nifong and an unidentified man, were all walking in the roadway when they were hit by vehicles. These incidents have highlighted the importance of road safety for both pedestrians and motorists.

Chris Glasser, the president of Streets for People, a non-profit organisation in Louisville dedicated to creating safer roads, emphasised the need for shared responsibility in ensuring roadway safety.
