Tragic Collision Claims Three Lives in Howick Township, Ontario
A devastating two-vehicle collision in Howick Township, Ontario has left the community in mourning after claiming the lives of all three occupants involved. The incident took place on Thursday, March 14th, 2024, just before 5:30 p.m. on Harriston Road, north of C Line Road.
Emergency Response
Upon receiving a distressing 9-1-1 call, Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Huron County Paramedic Services, and North Huron Fire Department rushed to the scene of the collision. Tragically, upon arrival, emergency services found two heavily damaged vehicles and three individuals who had sustained fatal injuries.
Loss of Life
Despite the efforts of first responders, two of the vehicle occupants were pronounced deceased at the scene, while the third occupant was rushed to a local hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. The deceased individuals, all residents of Huron County, have been identified as a 29-year-old from North Huron Township and a 67-year-old and 59-year-old from Howick Township.
Investigation Ongoing
The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team were called in to assist with the investigation, leading to the closure of Harriston Road for several hours. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and anyone with information is urged to contact Huron County OPP.
