Distressing incident in Bengaluru: Uzbekistan national found dead in hotel
Bengaluru: In a distressing incident, an Uzbekistan national was found dead inside a hotel in Seshadripuram in Bengaluru, police said. The deceased woman has been identified as Zareen. She had checked into the hotel on March 5.
According to sources, the woman was smothered to death in her hotel room. The victims had arrived in the city four days ago on a tourist visa.
The incident was reported at around 4.30pm on Wednesday when the hotel staff knocked at her room’s door, which is on the second floor. After not receiving any response, the staff unlocked the door and found her lying dead, prompting the hotel manager to promptly file a complaint.
The police have registered a case of mysterious death.
Investigation ongoing
The body of the Uzbekistan national has been sent to Bowring Hospital for post-mortem. Police are currently scanning the CCTV footage and the register at the hotel to determine whether anyone visited Zareena’s room on Wednesday.
