Manhunt underway for suspects in Polokwane CBD shooting

March 12

The Polokwane police have confirmed that a manhunt is currently in progress for the three suspects involved in the shooting of a businessman in the CBD on March 8. The 50-year-old victim, who is currently recuperating in the hospital, was targeted by three assailants while withdrawing cash from an ATM at a shopping centre in Bok Street near the taxi rank.

Authorities have opened two cases of attempted murder and attempted armed robbery in connection with the incident. Polokwane police spokesperson Captain Lesiba Ramoshaba stated that the suspects fled the scene in a white Toyota Corolla, and he is urging anyone with information to come forward.

Contrary to speculation, investigations do not suggest that the shooting was a targeted hit. Witnesses, including nearby taxi operators, reported swift emergency medical response, with the victim receiving priority 1 healthcare upon arrival at the hospital.
